Stephanie Smalls, a brilliant introvert, arrives at her new school with the intention of keeping to herself, despite the best efforts of her eccentric roommate, Lasagna. When the Biology Lab's pet turtle mysteriously vanishes and Stephanie is unwillingly assigned to investigate its disappearance, she discovers a conspiracy much bigger than anyone anticipated...
